Sugar Cruffins Recipe

Ingredients:

  • For the Dough:
    • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

Instructions:

  1. Make the Dough:
    • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
    • Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
  2. Shape the Cruffins:
    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a 12×16-inch rectangle.
    • Cut the dough into 12 equal squares.
    • For each square, roll it up tightly from one corner to the opposite corner.
    • Place the rolled-up dough on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down.
    • Brush the cruffins with melted butter.
  3. Bake:
    • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  4. Make the Glaze:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Glaze and Sprinkle:
    • While the cruffins are still warm, drizzle with the glaze and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
    • Let the cruffins cool completely before serving.
